The Forbidden Fruit and My Father’s Mistake

My father made a big mistake. I want all my brothers to learn from it. The brotherhood I speak of is not that which is defined by blood, but for all those who have chosen to do the Divine Will of God.

A man’s purpose is to do the will of God. A woman’s purpose is to help a man fulfil this purpose. It’s a sin to go against the Divine Will. That is the original sin of Adam and Eve.

Mankind fell when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. The forbidden fruit is not an apple or grape. It’s rather a seed of darkness enclosed in the flesh that opposes the very nature of God. Such fruit is never to be touched.

In botany, a fruit is a seed-bearing structure in flowering plants (also known as angiosperms) formed from the ovary after flowering. Wikipedia.

Adam understood his purpose and God’s plan. He named animals and took care of the garden. Never wanting for once to disobey God. He must have been tested and trusted.

Then God created Eve, to be his helper. Her purpose was to help Adam in his God-given purpose. To help and not to dominate. She too was tested. Her decision to act on her own will and pleasures led to the curse of mankind.

The Book of Genesis Chapter 3

16 To the woman he said,

“I will make your pains in childbearing very severe;
    with painful labor you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband,
    and he will rule over you.”

17 To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’

“Cursed is the ground because of you;
    through painful toil you will eat food from it
    all the days of your life.
18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
    and you will eat the plants of the field.
19 By the sweat of your brow
    you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
    since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
    and to dust you will return.”

God’s judgement is always merciful and corrective rather than punitive. His judgement on man to toil and sweat was designed to shape man to be disciplined in order not to repeat the mistake of Adam and build his character to lead.

In today’s mundane world, the work of the devil is still in full operation. The disobedience of women and the indiscipline of men have put the world in a state of chaos as it was that evening when God walked through the garden of Eden calling for Adam. God is still calling. His judgement still stands. Where are you, o man?

My father was a good man as Adam was. Yet, he repeated Adam’s mistake. Like Samson and Delilah. David and Bathsheba. Truly, the Lack of discipline destroys men and creates a division from God, the source of life. And just as Adam did, saying “it was the woman who gave me to eat. “

God’s judgement is always merciful and corrective. Man must suffer a great deal of sorrow, tears and blood for his neglect of discipline. The thirst for discipline must be great to resist all seeds of darkness dressed with bright colours, tempting flesh, ripe and fresh, with that savoury juice that saps.

My father made a big mistake. I want all my brothers to learn from it. The brotherhood I speak of is not that which is defined by blood, but for all those who have chosen to do the Divine Will of God.

I’ll pen them always. I will.
